In one month, I take off.
Gaga is the only one
who can truly emulate my
excitement.
Final destination?
Berlin, Germany.
Length of stay? One semester: four months.
Purpose? Well, my university calls it "study away," so I suppose studying is at least one purpose... but I'm not sure yet how I would answer that question. "To experience" might be a bit more accurate.

When I fell in love over six years ago (with the German language, that is...) I couldn't help but to picture myself in Germany. With each passing year, that picture has gotten clearer and clearer. I have a strange connection to this country where I've only been once for a three week exchange trip (pictured left). I often wonder what my life would've been like and who I would've been had I been raised elsewhere--specifically Germany.
Although my German ancestry goes back a few generations, I would absolutely consider myself to be German. It's a place where I feel at home, where I speak a language that flows from my lips as if it were my own. From what I've heard, Berlin is very unlike the Germany I know, but I'm so excited for the city to become one I can truly claim as my own.
